July 2019

It has been a busy few months this late spring into early summer so I thought we’d have a little update of the adventures that I’ve been on. So many incredible gigs, projects and compositions with some exciting things to look forward to over the second half of 2019.

During June and July I’ve performed with the Brass Funkeys, Pandora’s Jukebox, Groovestone, the Diamond Skyline Orchestra, Funk The Revolution and The Sessions at corporate events up and down the country.

I’ve been involved with some dixieland performances with Jack Clifford, Rex O’Dell, Tim Huskisson and a variety of other luminaries of that era of incredible music alongside big band festival performances with the Urban Big Band and ECHO

I also performed with Roy Hemmings who is one of the original members of the Drifters. His voice was incredible!

I’ve been on a wide variety of schools and education projects from the Havering Music School Summer Concerts and two Junior Music Festivals to working on new musicals with the QYouth of Queens Theatre Hornchurch. “Greggs - The Musical” was such a hit that Greggs gave us free sausage rolls! How joyful! Though I guess that is what happens when you perform one of my latest hits, “A Love Song To A Sausage Roll”. Sadly the recording for this is not being made available but it would be such a hit!

I’ve been involved with end of year productions at Ardleigh Green Junior School and Goodrington School which has recently closed, ending my seven year tenure as Head of Music. Below you can see the Ardleigh Green Junior School Choir performing original songs composed by me in Romford Market in the scorching sun of late June having already performed a different selection of songs at the Junior Music Festival! Such hard working students!

I also invited the wonderful Pete Gavin and Katie Patterson to perform some of my original songs with all of the students singing in the hall together which was incredible - check out the extract of it below!

Over the next two weeks I’m running projects with Havering Music School on writing musicals and jazz improvisation and at Queens Theatre Hornchurch staging a one act musical in a week!

Towards the end of August I take up the Keys 2 role on ‘As You Like It’ working with the National Theatre and Queens Theatre Hornchurch to put the show on we’ve been working on since early Spring. I’m very excited for the culmination of this project as it has been a big part of the work I’ve done this year. It has even involved shopping as can be seen below!

24th-27th August ‘As You Like It’ @ Queens Theatre Hornchurch
